Of the more than 1.4 million visitors I get each year most do not
have appreciable Six Sigma experience. Sure, some get certified but
precious few know how to actually use the materials they are getting
certified on as very few certifications require real, auditable project
experience.
They just can’t see how the pieces fit.
And then they wonder why they fall apart in interviews and can’t get a job.
Problem 1: Its difficult to understand how to apply Six Sigma techniques without having seen a project.
Problem 2: It’s difficult to get to work on a Six Sigma project without having Six Sigma project experience.
Solution: Learn via case study!
A case study would help illustrate how all of these tools and techniques, operate together, right?
But wait. There’s another set impediments there:
Problem 1: There’s not a lot of Six Sigma case studies freely available!
Problem 2: Many of the ones that are available are locked behind paywalls
because they are so time-intensive to make.
Problem 3: Many
companies don’t want to freely share their data because the information
is proprietary and/or the results are a huge competitive benefit for
them and they don’t want their competitors to have access to the
results!
